SENSOR CASINGS FOR UOFG URBAN BIG DATA CENTRE

Recently we collaborated with the Urban Big Data Centre at University of Glasgow on a significant project. We manufactured 200 bespoke sensor enclosures for their study on indoor environments and fuel poverty. We worked with them to provide several iterations of prototypes to ratify the design, before commencing full production.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL:

Dr. Qunshan Zhao (Professor in Urban Analytics):

"It was a lovely experience working with 3D Scotland. They delivered our tasked job promptly and are able to fix those printing issues quickly. The company provides a very competitive price and I would definitely recommend 3D Scotland to other people want to use 3D printing service in Scotland and UK."

Dr. Grant Tregonning (Research Associate):

"It has been a pleasure working with you and I will most definitely be bearing you in mind/promoting you to friends/colleagues."

BRONZE SUNBIRD 3D PRINT

The customer approached us with a 3D file of a sunbird. We recommended the optimal manufacturing method and material, and made adjustments to the model to ensure that it would be robust enough once manufactured. The 3D printed sunbird was used to cast a Bronze replica which is now on show at the Timespan Heritage and Art Institution in Helmsdale, Scotland.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL:

Naoko Mabon & Giulia Gregnanin (Co-curators at Timespan in Helmsdale):

"Michael and Alex at 3D Scotland Ltd were a wonderful team to work with. Prompt, helpful and professional. They produced a 3D-printed Palestine Sunbird which then has been casted into bronze at Black Isle Bronze Ltd in Nairn."

BESPOKE RING DESIGN & MANUFACTURE

We really enjoyed working on this project! Kayleigh came to us with rough sketches and dimensions for a bespoke ring which we used to create and fine-tune a 3D model with Kayleigh's input. After agreeing on a final design we then manufactured the ring, which was then used to create a mold so that these could be made over and over again in metal.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL:

Kayleigh Grier (Glasgow-based Jeweller):

"I contacted 3D Scotland looking for help and they have gone above and beyond! I am a Glasgow based jeweller who received a commission from a client for a rather detailed sovereign style ring. It required both 3D modelling and printing. With only my rough sketches to go by -but a very specific vision- they really had their work cut out for them!

3D Scotland were incredibly attentive and helpful right from the start. They talked me through pricing and material options and then set to work. They sent frequent updates, keeping me involved in the process and allowing me to make changes if required.

They have an incredible amount of skill and it really shows in the 3D Print and design I received.

I am so glad to have found 3D Scotland. Both myself and my client are incredibly delighted with the finished product and I really look forward to working with them again!"

THE PROCESS

1. Contact

Contact us at info@3dscotland.net or using the form below. Here you can ask us any questions you may have on your project and we can recommend printing methods, materials, design changes and more to make sure that you are happy to proceed.

2. Quote

We will then offer you a no-obligation quote for our services, which includes design (if applicable), materials, manufacturing and shipping. We will also give you a lead time (when we expect you to receive your product).

3. Modelling

If you don't have a 3D model to hand, we can create one for you! We charge a design fee which depends on the complexity of the model. If you have a 3D model (preferably STEP/STL format) then skip straight to step 4!

4. Manufacturing

Next step is manufacturing. Time to manufacture will depend on the type of printing, number of units, availability of materials and 3D Scotland's manufacturing schedule.
